A cabin in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina is the setting for this low-rent Key Largo. Grady, the owner of the lodge, is running the place following a nervous breakdown and a failed Hollywood career. A local young man called Beetle has begged his way in as an employee and causes havoc when the owner’s boyfriend Andy, best friend Karen and her husband Rye show up for a visit that is lengthened by an oncoming storm. Grady wants to propose to Andy and doesn’t realize that his intended has moved on, Karen is a film producer with a secret and Beetle tries to snake his way in to all their lives Teorema style with varying degrees of success or disaster. Incomprehensible dialogue and bad lighting that obscure much of the action are combined with blank direction and performances that do their best against the odds for an empty, incredibly difficult experience.
