More mayhem that continues the surprisingly successful franchise of spoofs. Anna Faris is back, this time no longer with husband Charlie Sheen after a Viagra accident gets him thrown off his balcony and killed. She takes up nursing work for a catatonic old lady (a wasted Cloris Leachman) in a takeoff of The Grudge that sees her constantly being haunted by the ghost of a dead Japanese boy. Next door to them, the family from War Of The Worlds is preparing for alien invasion by Tri-Pods, with Craig Bierko subbing for Tom Cruise. It’s less tiresome than parts 2 and 3 were, but will really only be funny to those who have seen the films that it is making light of. Carmen Electra‘s version of Bryce Dallas Howard’s role in The Village is hilarious, and the closing scene, in which Bierko and Debra Wilson recreate Cruise’s ridiculous couch-jumping on Oprah, runs on much too long but is a hysterical treatment of a moment just ripe for ridicule.
