With the success of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, movie distributors suddenly got hot to start releasing a whole slew of Asian martial arts films to theatres: this exciting and colourful adventure got a distribution in the United States eight years after its original release in China. It’s a period film that tells the story of a Robin Hood-like hero () who is undermining the government of a tiny town. Another fighter (), equally his match in talent and skill, is brought to fight him and do away with his rebellious techniques. The opponent doesn’t have anything personal against our hero, he just needs the job. These guy’s moves are so impressive (and so ridiculously over-the-top), that you’ll be enjoying yourself too much to mind some obvious plot holes.
