Cry Wolf

(out of 5)

A British transfer student () who’s been kicked out of every prep school in the world arrives at a posh institution and instantly gets in with the misfit crowd of super cool pranksters. Led by a bewitching redhead (), this snotty clique likes to sneak out after lights out and play a game of hidden identity in their nearby decrepit chapel. Morris and Booth come up with a more dastardly design for fun when they design a game to get their entire school involved in their role-playing: invent a serial killer, send out an ‘anonymous’ email that describes his M.O. and case history, and send students into a panic while enjoying the havoc that results. It’s hilarious at first, that is until someone who matches the email’s description of evil starts going after Morris in a big bad way. For a low-budget film with a virtually unknown cast (except for  as a teacher), it does manage some loopy fun and should be commended for not indulging in any goriness, but the characters are cliched beyond words and the plot twists are easy to see coming.
