Amusing comedy from the Netherlands about three very different sisters who go into a frenzy when their gay brother announces that he’s getting married–to a woman! Their fear is that his marriage will put him and his bride in financial control of a hotel property in Portugal that is very dear to them, so they conspire and scheme to break the relationship up in order to prevent their loss. The characters are adorable and the relationships feel genuine, but the girls are never mean enough to impress you and the overall impact is rather minimal. All the same, it’s a breezy comedy in the feel-good vein of Antonia’s Line and should go over well with its audience. Make sure you stay through the end credits or you’ll miss a very satisfying conclusion!
