Geena Davis and Michael Keaton play speechwriters who work for two opposing politicians during a senate race in New Mexico. After meeting various times and discovering how much they irritate each other, they fall madly in love and create a huge conflict of interest for their jobs. These two are the perfect performers for this brainy romance, one that features terrific dialogue and absolutely no story momentum whatsoever. Likely inspired by the real life story of James Carville and Mary Matalin, who worked on opposite sides of the Bush-Clinton campaign of 1992 (and are still happily married).
