USA, 2009. Daryl Wein Films, Mister Lister Films. Screenplay by Peter Duchan, Zoe Lister Jones, Daryl Wein. Cinematography by Alexander Bergman. Produced by Zoe Lister-Jones, Daryl Wein. Music by Kyle Forester. Production Design by Ryan Schaefer. Film Editing by Daryl Wein.
Positively dreadful independent film about an established couple (Daryl Wein, Zoe Lister Jones) who decide to be grownups about breaking up and do it in stages. They pick their days to spend together or not, little by little informing their friends and family and gradually separating only to realize that they cannot do without each other.
Their parents don’t understand why these two are complicating their lives so unnecessarily; we as an audience do not understand why we are being forced to watch such drivel.
Dull performances, opaque characters and completely unskilled filmmaking turn ninety minutes of film into what feels like hours of torture, the only talent comes from the more veteran members of the cast (Julie White, Andrea Martin as mothers) but their characters are basically just free-form improvisations and do not contribute anything to the already diluted and vacant plot.
