In mid-21st century Los Angeles, a special force of super-trained police officers are assigned to investigate the origin of the remains of a cyborg leg that was discovered on a sting operation. Japan has been the primary manufacturer of all robotic technology for some time, though it has also been completely shrouded in mystery since it withdrew from world affairs ten years earlier in a hailstorm of bad publicity regarding its violation of cyborg technology laws. After police heroine Vexille risks death to penetrate the land of the rising sun’s impossible nationwide security, she discovers some very terrifying truths about the country that are the result of corporate greed. This superbly animated, unstoppable action film benefits from strong writing (that never twists out of control), superb direction and some of the most exciting sequences in animated and/or action film history. Enhancing it even further is a kickass soundtrack by Paul Oakenfold and a talented voice cast.
