Fans of the Spice Girls will enjoy this tribute to their momentary superfame as they go from one silly adventure to another in a musical directed by Bob Spiers (Absolutely Fabulous). Scary, Sporty, Posh, Ginger and Baby Spice are working hard towards a big concert, but before they can get around to it they’ve got some personal problems to work out, a few parties to hit, a few aliens to save the world from and on top of that, their friend is about to have a baby! Riddled with the group’s hottest songs from their like-titled album, the film is bouncy and fun here and there, but overall flat and uneven. Not likely to be enjoyed by anyone other than the group’s ardent young admirers.
