The original invasion! Kevin McCarthy is enjoying his perfectly normal suburban life until he realizes that aliens have landed on earth and are slowly taking over his community. They grow a duplicate of you and then replace you as soon as you fall asleep; eventually they’ve wiped out McCarthy’s entire area and move towards the rest of the country. He and Carolyn Jones take it upon themselves to warn the rest of the world, but will they manage to do it or are they too late? The terrific ominous ending only adds to the overtones of Red Scare criticism that are hidden not-so-deep beneath the surface. Lots of scary fun!
