‘Loveable fuckup’ Dupree (Owen Wilson) loses his job and his apartment and asks to stay over at the house of his best friend Carl (Matt Dillon). Carl has just gotten married to Molly (Kate Hudson), and Dupree’s visit puts a strain on their newlywed happiness that isn’t helped by the terrific pressure that Carl is having placed on him by his boss (Michael Douglas) who is also his overbearing father-in-law. Attempts to recreate all the shenanigans of Wedding Crashers and Meet The Parents make for a highly familiar film that follows the formula without the slightest attempt to be original, but Hudson’s charm and Wilson’s irresistible pluck make it a pleasant if not particularly memorable experience.
