Absorbing, moody drama about a man who takes care of his aging father and finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant. While on a business trip to a provincial Argentinian town, he discovers that the man sitting beside him on the bus actually died en route and it causes introspection on his part. For the next several days, he checks into hotels under assumed names and professions (including the dead man’s), living out alternate lives that exercise a subtle manner of midlife crisis. The direction by Ariel Rotter is super subtle and will be a bit too esoteric for some, but those who enjoy experimental South American cinema will get a real kick out of it. María Onetto is terrific as a nosy hotel concierge.
