Taxi Zum Klo

(out of 5)

In this oddly charming film, directs and stars as a fictionalized version of himself. He’s a grammar school teacher who spends his evenings enjoying sexual encounters (which are graphically displayed) with men in clubs until he meets a charming leather man and they shack up. Where the film wants to go with its story is completely beyond me, but what it does accomplish is showing a gay man who is unapologetically sexual and at the same time amiable, a combination that Hollywood rarely produced at the time.  It’s fun to see full-on sex scenes this side of the X rating, but you’ll also be impressed with how diverting the characters are.
