Well-worn male bonding movie about a has-been trapeze artist (Burt Lancaster) who now works as a circus rig man after a bad fall. He meets a young upstart of a trapeze swinger (Tony Curtis) and it encourages him to get back in the game, but not before an opportunistic hoop jumper () gets between them. You can paint the plot by numbers it’s so predictable, but the stars are all appealing, and if you’re fan of either one you’ll enjoy it.

Berlin Film Festival Award: Best Actor (Burt Lancaster)
