Summer School

BBB

(out of 5)

plays a gym teacher who is unwittingly roped in to teaching a summer school course in English to a bunch of underachievers. Never having taught an academic course in his life, he is met not only with the decided resistance of the class but with his own lack of confidence in what he could possibly accomplish as an English teacher. It’s the perfect opportunity for a lot of idiotic comedy to pass before the obvious feelgood ending, but something easygoing about the film’s writing and direction makes the characters likable and the situations enjoyable.  appears as the romantic interest who gives Harmon a new reason to reach for more in his life.
