Om Puri is excellent in this touching British drama. He plays a rebellious Muslim Indian taxi driver living in London who enjoys his brandy and jazz music. His son turns fanatically religious and starts participating in violent protests and inviting religious leaders to live in their home, which provides no end of trouble for our hero. The only relief Puri seems to find in life is his friendship with a prostitute (a fabulous Rachel Griffiths), whose new client (Stellan Skarsgård) is making both their heads spin. Not for all tastes, but it has its moments.
