Following the tragic death of their son in a car accident, married couple Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman decide to get away from it all and enjoy a nice, relaxing vacation on their yacht. When they come upon a shipwreck in the middle of the ocean, Neill goes over to the abandoned ship while madman Billy Zane comes aboard their yacht and terrorizes Kidman. Although it bears the hallmark of eighties thrillers (any excuse to have sex in a movie), it’s still a pretty freaky ride that will have your knuckles white until the end; and then it goes predictable and kills all the fun. Kidman was only twenty when she filmed this, and was already a charismatic actor upon whom an entire film could easily rely.
