An all-star cast can’t save this incredibly dull mystery-comedy. Kevin Kline, who can never manage to save bad material, plays an ex-cop who was pushed off the force thanks to a scandal. When a serial killer starts terrorizing New York City, his superiors ask for him back on the job in order to help catch the culprit. Alan Rickman, as a painter friend of Kline’s, provides the only signs of life in this confusingly ridiculous film written by Oscar winner John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck).
