Cool-ass anime film based on the popular television series and featuring a style that takes film noir detective stories to a science-fiction future. After a terrorist bomb explodes in the middle of a busy city, a deadly virus is unleashed upon innocent citizens unless the heroic Spike Spiegel can stop it from happening. Odd thing is, the evidence Spiegel gathers leads to a villain who was supposed to have died ten years earlier. The animation is eye-popping, and though the story can sometimes be a bit too confusing, there’s no denying it’s a good time. Great musical score boosts an already impressive experience.
