‘s hilarious Saturday Night Live character Mary Katherine Gallagher gets the big screen treatment in this film that’s about as funny and entertaining as any of the Lorne Michaels-produced SNL films ever get.  Shannon is a riot as the Catholic school girl who believes in her heart that she truly has what it takes to be a superstar and stops at nothing to prove it.  Glynis Johns is her sweet grandmother who gives her the inspiration to follow her dreams. Nothing remarkable, but a fun way to spend two hours; I especially get a kick out of watching her say her nightly prayers.
