Bil’s rating (out of 5): B
USA, 1970. Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. Story by Roger Ebert, Russ Meyer, Screenplay by Roger Ebert. Cinematography by Fred J. Koenekamp. Produced by Russ Meyer. Music by Stu Phillips. Production Design by Arthur Lonergan, Jack Martin Smith. Costume Design by David Hayes. Film Editing by Dann Cahn, Dick Wormell.
A sequel in name only, this film has no connection with the Jacqueline Susann turkey except that it too is about girls who come to Hollywood to make it big and end up doing too much sex and drugs.
It was considered raunchy at the time, even getting an X rating, but by today’s standards it’s pretty tame, mostly just a lot of Benny Hill antics and ugly clothing.
Roger Ebert co-wrote the screenplay, plus look for a momentary appearance by the marvelous Pam Grier.
