Parker Posey is a riot in this independent comedy about an aimless Manhattan party animal who decides to take life seriously and get a job. She ends up working in the public library with a close relative and, thanks to the Dewey decimal system and a handsome Middle Eastern falafel seller (who was a professor in his home country), she ends up attaining a deeper value of life. Spritely fun, with a bouncy musical selection and lots of funny lines, this film was unsuccessfully adapted to television as a series starring Christine Taylor. As a movie, however, it’s great fun and the best way to get to know its indie queen star.
