Lame farce is poorly acted, badly written, and not all that funny. Brendan Fraser and his pals Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi have their own band but can’t get anywhere with their two-bit gigs and an industry that is not very welcoming. While visiting a radio station to get their demo played on the air, a fight erupts and the band members end up taking the radio station and its employees hostage. What follows is a mish-mash of a comedy that is difficult to sit through and not in the least bit likeable. The characters are mostly too stupid to be sympathetic, but not stupid enough to be funny; Fraser is never believable as a metalhead for a second, while Buscemi gets all the good lines and gives the best delivery of them.
