ZALMAN KING
Bil’s rating (out of 5): B.
USA, 1991. Vision PDG. Screenplay by Zalman King. Cinematography by Marc Reshovsky. Produced by Rafael Eisenman, David Saunders. Music by George S. Clinton. Production Design by Richard Amend. Costume Design by Sloane Morrison. Film Editing by James Gavin Bedford, Marc Grossman.
As if once wasn’t bad enough, Zalman King decided to make a sequel to his boring sexpot thriller. This one has absolutely nothing to do with the original except for the title and its emphasis on the lurid sexual awakening of a young woman. Nina Siemaszko plays an innocent girl who is sent from a young age to go live in a whorehouse and learn everything about human sexuality that she possibly can. Of course, in King’s world, what she learns has more to do with an X-rated Victoria’s Secret catalogue than actual humanity. This film features plenty of breasts and lingerie, but very little intelligence or actual sexual exploration (for something better watch Bliss).
