Everything that Robert Altman’s Ready To Wear/Pret-A-Porter missed out on in its insider’s look at the fashion industry is made up for in this documentary that follows a year in the life of designer Isaac Mizrahi. We watch as Mizrahi, a natural born star if ever there was one, overcomes all obstacles to create his lineup for a new season’s show, dealing with other artists’ rip-offs, temperamental supermodels and the limitations of time, not to mention all the unpredictable muck-ups that can occur when creating a show of this magnitude. In between, he pals around with Sandra Bernhard, takes a meeting with Eartha Kitt and interviews Cindy Crawford. S assy and fun, made notable mostly by Mizrahi’s fantastic personality.
