is a bouncy geologist who discovers the hard way that Los Angeles is sitting on a major volcano hot spot and is seconds away from turning into the world’s largest lava lamp.  Tommy Lee Jones plays a local cop who stumbles upon her during a city-wide panic and together they team up to evacuate some families from their apartments or stop a few people from walking into sewer holes, but other than that what could they possible do against a volcano! The stars try admirably, but the more complicated stunts are incredulous, and the most elaborate effects shots look fake.
