Two escaped convicts (Jeremy Northam, Steve Zahn) steal a gay couple’s RV and get stuck in the small town where the couple were expected to perform duties as beauty pageant coordinators. The cons pretend to be the couple in order to collect the giant sum of money that they’re being paid for the job, but along the way fall in love with two very colourful women (Ally Walker, Illeana Douglas) who have no idea how available these guys are to them. Smart writing and great performances are the key to this extremely funny comedy that features an absolutely brilliant performance by William H. Macy as a shy cop just waiting for someone to tear open his closet door. Zahn is impeccably funny, and Northam gives an extremely polished and sensitive performance.
