Demi Moore attempts to lighten up a bit in this quirky comedy, but she is painfully miscast in the lead role. She plays a clairvoyant New Englander who sees a future husband in a vision and decides that, when New York butcher George Dzundza washes up on her shore, she has met her true love. Now a butcher’s wife in the Big Apple, she changes the lives of those around her with her abilities, while also wondering if her attraction to her psychiatrist (Jeff Daniels) might mean that she married the wrong man. The supporting cast livens it up quite a bit, but its oddities never come together well enough and the whole thing feels awkward.
