To Have And Have Not

(out of 5)

Warner Bros. tried to recapture the mystery and perfection of Casablanca with lesser but still worthy results. Based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway, it also introduced the world to a stunning, nineteen year-old , paired up for the first time with  and giving the tough bastard some good female competition (“You know how to whistle, don’t you Steve? You just put your lips together and blow.”) The story mainly concerns a fishing boat captain who teams up with the mysterious lady to fight the Nazis. The Big Sleep is even better.
