Marilyn Monroe established herself as a luminous movie star with this hilarious musical comedy that is all delight and no substance. She and Jane Russell play a couple of beautiful showgirls who board an ocean liner for France where Monroe’s millionaire boyfriend (Tommy Noonan) is meeting them. To ensure her fidelity, Noonan has hired a private detective to keep an eye on her. The musical numbers are all enjoyable, the most famous one being Monroe’s singing ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’.
