The very first animated feature film to be made by Walt Disney’s team is still as fresh and fun as it ever was back in 1938. Snow White is an annoyingly innocent and sweet young lady who escapes into a dark and frightening forest when it becomes known to her that her evil stepmother wants to kill her out of vain jealousy. Finding herself in a tiny house inhabited by seven dwarfs, Snow White befriends them and…becomes their housekeeper? Okay, maybe not the most enlightened story, but it is beautifully animated and marvelously colourful, plus enhanced by tuneful score.

Academy Award:  Special Award (1938)
