Terrific concert film that gives viewers a personal glimpse of the man behind so much great music, Chuck Berry. At first featuring interviews with his friends and colleagues (including Bruce Springsteen and Jerry Lee Lewis), plus fantastic footage of Berry himself on the stage and off, Taylor Hackford’s superb documentary veers strictly into the live arena in its second half and displays performances from Berry’s 1987 performance at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. Fans will learn about the parkland he owns, his sensitivity about his time in jail, his relationships with family members, and to top it off, will hear him perform their favourite songs of his including ‘Maybellene’, ‘Roll Over, Beethoven’ and more.
