Bette Davis has fun parading around as an Asian villainess in this enjoyable thriller. Robert Wagner plays a CIA agent who is ensnared by Davis’s Madame Sin, a sort of female Fu Manchu, who forces him to help her diabolical scheme. Resting in the confines of her grand Scottish castle, Madame Sin wishes to steal a submarine that is the key point to her plans to take over the world. Only an appreciation of the camp value of this fan favourite could possibly induce you to stay for the whole thing, a bent James Bond adventure with an old, but not tired, movie queen at its centre.
