Canada, 1997. Grey Zone. Screenplay by John Greyson. Cinematography by Kim Derko. Produced by John Greyson. Music by Andrew Zealley. Production Design by Bill Layton. Costume Design by Richard Krough. Film Editing by Dennis Day. Toronto International Film Festival 1997.
Up there with the worst films ever made. It’s a little piece of junk that inanely links together the topics of circumcision, copyright infringement and Pierre Trudeau’s fame, and the results feel like spending ninety minutes on the rack. Badly photographed, edited and acted, the only relative high point is when the wonderfully gifted Linda Griffiths is interviewed to talk about her experiences being in the hot seat for her theatrical production Maggie and Pierre.
