Tense as anything can be, this slick Hollywood thriller will keep you in your seat till the curtain comes down. Samuel L. Jackson is a top-notch hostage negotiator who finds himself framed for a crime he didn’t commit and so reverses his viewpoint on life by becoming a hostage taker: he refuses to let anyone of his fellow office employees go free until his name is cleared. Kevin Spacey is the other top-notch negotiator who is brought in to get Jackson out, but soon finds himself willing to help the guy catch the real bad guy who framed him. A host of filmdom’s best character actors round out the wonderful cast, and the attention payed to the supporting characters is probably what lifts this one higher than most films of a similar ilk.
