Supercheese entry in the franchise, in which a hilarious  is hired by a multimillionaire (Robert Vaughn) to build a supercomputer that will give him and his power hungry sister () control over all the world’s weapons. Naturally, Superman will stand for none of this, so when not making goo-goo eyes (as Clark Kent) to new love interest Lana (a lovely ), he travels the world doing his best to prevent the bad guys from getting anywhere. Naturally, there is danger afoot, particularly when the bad guys come up with a special formula of Kryptonite that turns our hero evil, using his superpowers for some nasty shenanigans like straightening the Leaning Tower Of Pisa. The result is pure kitsch, with lots of fun special effects but no real danger: the villains are more annoying than scary, but it clips along evenly and is very enjoyable, particularly as continues to be such a moral dream as Superman and Pryor is great comic relief.
