Canada, 2001. Big Daddy Beer Guts. Screenplay by Noam Gonick. Cinematography by Paul Suderman. Produced by Noam Gonick, Laura Michalchyshyn. Music by Chris Robinson. Production Design by Simon Hughes. Costume Design by Billy Martin. Film Editing by Bruce Little.
Attempts to recreate the attitudes of John Waters and the visuals of Michelangelo Antonioni fail miserably in this uninteresting comedy-drama. A wheatfield DJ (?) has set himself a goal to sleep with two thousand men (in honour of the millenium) and at the end finds the perfect mate in UFO-obsessed Happy. In between there are raves on the prairies, competition from a really gross hairstylist and musical interludes by fishnet-attired transsexuals. Offputting and boring.
