Masters Of The Universe

(out of 5)

The popular He-Man television cartoon series makes its way to the big screen with unimpressive results. The stupid story has He-Man () get transported from his alien planet to modern-day Earth with the accidental help of a Cosmic Key that the evil Skeletor () plans on using to take over their home planet of Eternia. He-Man teams up with a chicken restaurant employee () to help him find the key and get him and his friends returned home to save the planet from Skeletor, but the bad guy shows up in an attempt to kill our hero once and for all.  Lundgren’s constantly flexed muscles make him a perfect fit for the lead role, but the story is just too dull for words. Having it take place mostly on planet Earth saps the possibility of a very imaginative and beautifully designed film, leaving for an adventure that obviously had serious budgetary concerns in its production.
