Sean Connery is a long-in-the-tooth law professor who decides to help out a death row inmate (Blair Underwood) on trial for murder because something tells him that the guy is worth helping. Searching the entire state of Florida to find clues as to the original evidence of murder, he seeks the Hannibal Lecter-style council of an insane imprisoned criminal (Ed Harris) who offers him cryptic advice that may or may not help him. A much-hyped climax in the Florida everglades is not as fantastic as you might be led to believe, nor is there anything particularly noteworthy about this routine suspense film. Also stars an underused Kate Capshaw.
