Powerful story about a young, idealistic doctor (a superb Robert Donat) and his experiences while serving the people of a tiny English town. Coming out of law school fresh and ready to live up to his long years of training and personal and professional oaths, Donat is temporarily sidetracked from his goals by personal greed until a powerful experience sends him right back on the right track. Rosalind Russell is also a standout as his loving wife in this memorable drama that will stay with you for a long time.
