Excellent drama directed by Louis Malle, in which Burt Lancaster plays a petty criminal who gets caught up with Susan Sarandon in a crooked drug deal orchestrated by her husband (Robert Joy). Great photography, thirties-style gangster characters and an excellent script by playwright John Guare make for fantastic entertainment, and one of the best films of its year.
