USA, 1948. Walt Disney Productions. Screenplay by Winston Hibler, Erdman Penner, Harry Reeves, Homer Brightman, Ken Anderson, Ted Sears, Joe Rinaldi, William Cottrell, Art Scott, Jesse Marsh, Bob Moore, John Walbridge, one segment based on the story Little Toot by Hardie Gramatky. Cinematography by Winton C. Hoch. Produced by Walt Disney. Music by Eliot Daniel, Paul J. Smith. Film Editing by Donald Halliday, Thomas Scott.
The last Disney film made up of short animated musical numbers that Walt produced before returning to traditional narrative with The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, this was the equally creative and infuriating follow-up to Make Mine Music. Here the live-action skits have been pumped up, featuring appearances by Roy Rogers and the very young Bobby Driscoll and Luana Patten. Animation highlights include “The Story of Johnny Appleseed” and the combination live-action/animation number “Blame It On The Samba”.
