USA, 1951. Walt Disney Productions. Story by Winston Hibler, Ted Sears, Bill Peet, Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Milt Banta, William Cottrell, Dick Kelsey, Joe Grant, Dick Huemer, Del Connell, Tom Oreb, John Walbridge, based on The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Produced by Walt Disney. Music by Oliver Wallace. Film Editing by Lloyd L. Richardson.
Lesser effort by the Disney studios in bringing a classic of children’s literature to life. Alice is Lewis Carroll’s pert, blonde heroine who follows a hurried white rabbit down a hole and ends up in a chiaroscuro world where nothing makes the slightest bit of sense. The Mad Hatter’s tea party is a delight, but nothing else is all that memorable.
