Good songs, fun costumes, Marlene‘s eyebrows: for some people, it’s more than enough! Dietrich is once again the dangerous temptress, this time travelling the South Seas and ending up in a U.S. protectorate called Boni Kamba. There she performs at the titular night club and wins the heart of navy man John Wayne. Wayne’s superiors try to intervene in their impending romance, but it seems he’s so head over heels he’s willing to throw over his career for her. You can easily guess what happens to the hooker with the heart of gold.
