USA, 1995. Paramount Pictures, Robert Evans Company. Screenplay by Joe Eszterhas. Cinematography by Andrzej Bartkowiak. Produced by Gary Adelson, Craig Baumgarten, Robert Evans. Music by James Horner. Production Design by Alex Tavoularis. Costume Design by Marilyn Vance. Film Editing by Augie Hess.
Terrible thriller written by Joe Eszterhas. David Caruso is the assistant district attorney looking into the murder of a prominent individual, Chazz Palminteri is a key suspect, Linda Fiorentino is his wife and also an old friend of Caruso’s. In between the weak scenes of bad dialogue and shallow plot exposition, people keep having sex. It’s beautifully lit and marvellously scored by James Horner, but it’s still just a trashy sex movie with a better cast than it deserves.
