What jolly fun, Conan is back! This time, the hulking hero (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is entreated by an evil queen to travel to a distant land and obtain a sacred horn that must be saved from an evil sorcerer, and also save the life of a captive young virgin princess (Olivia d’Abo) named Jehnna (that’s right, she looks like a porn star, she dresses like a porn star, she’s named like a porn star). He goes on his quest with his faithful sidekick Tracey Walter on the agreement that his kingdom be returned to him, and along the way picks up companions Grace Jones, Mako and Wilt Chamberlain. Most of it makes very little sense and it’s probably one of the silliest movies you’ll ever see, but it’s a grand adventure and the tone is kept refreshingly lighter than the first one by director Richard Fleischer. Arnold can hardly be understood, but who cares so long as he keeps swingin’ that sword!
