Movie industry analysts were flabbergasted when this film opened and audiences stayed away in droves. How could an action movie with a fantasy-genre plot and a star like Arnold Schwarzenegger not entice ticket buyers? Austin O’Brien plays a kid who lucks out when he wins a special ticket to the premiere of his favourite movie star’s latest film. The night that the movie performs, the film comes to life before him and his hero (Schwarzenegger) invites him to become a part of it. A story like this has plenty of opportunity to show you a good time, but the screenplay is tedious and the photography is flat and ugly. Even Arnold doesn’t seem to be having that good a time being in it. Skip it and watch the highly superior True Lies.
