The Raid: Redemption

Original title:  Serbuan Maut

A team of elite police officers are taken to a giant, slummy Jakarta high-rise that is run by a drug lord. Entering on the bottom floor, they violently work their way up, storey by storey, with casualties happening frequently along the way. At the centre of the group is one particular officer with superb fighting skills and a personal connection with one of the bad guy’s henchmen. There is no way this story will seem unfamiliar to anyone watching this non-stop, fast-paced action film, but its execution will be a complete thrill for fans of unapologetically graphic grindhouse cinema. The fight scenes are executed with impressive vigour and realism, though the shallow characters and relentless noise of stabbing and shooting (which does get to be numbing after a while) will turn off many viewers.
