My Old Addiction

(out of 5)

Lawrence Kasdan’s attempt to reintroduce Western lore to modern cinema goers is a successful one. This enjoyable film is a great combination of ensemble character drama and gun-toting action, with a host of terrific actors bringing the Wild West back to life. It’s the late 19th-century, and the town of Silverado is overrun with crime and corruption. Four friends, previously separated but circumstantially reunited, come together to clean the place up and restore right to the town.  Great photography and a rousing musical score.
