Exotica

Atom Egoyan creates an intoxicating view of a seedy underworld in this film whose story revolves around a house of burlesque called “Exotica”. The main characters who collide and interact are a young woman () who dances at the club, the club’s beautiful owner (), a tax auditor () who is a frequent patron, the club’s DJ () and a pet store owner () who picks men up at the opera.  How everyone manages to connect to each other is unnaturally forced, but there are moments of visual brilliance and emotional depth to make it a worthy experience.
